Twlight

Okay, I admit it, I'm hooked! Yolanda was the first to get "hooked". She has read all 4 books! She finished them in record breaking time too I might add. I haven't had time to read the books, only because it is tax season, but once tax season is done, I am right on it! I loved this movie, and I am not into vampire type movies. If you haven't seen the movie, I recommend you do. You might just find out that you'll like it!

To farm or not to farm?

I think I am a farm girl at heart! Doesn't that picture look like pure fun? Not that I want to do all the work that a farm requires. I KNOW that farming is hard work! But with the right person, having a farm would be fun. I think it all depends on the attitude of your spouse too. With that being said, I guess I will have to be content with just looking. When I look at pictures like this I long to find that special farm house out in the corn fields of Iowa somewhere, even if its just in my dreams.

My children on the other hand have told me that they will by no means, leave Vancouver before they finish school.....LOL They have found a place where they are happy and content and have pretty good friends.

I must say that Vancouver is a wonderful place to live. The only thing I don't like is all the rain! Other than the rainy weather, Vancouver/Portland is a very interesting place to be. Plus we have a GREAT view of Mt. Hood. Oh boy, sometimes it is soooo clear and big and beautiful! I wish everyone could see it for themselves. Mt St Helens is not far from here either. What a beautiful mountain that is too.

I guess I will just have to find my special farm house here in the Pacific Northwest. It looks like I will be here for a while. And that's not really a bad thing.....no, not at all.

Brent and Brittany

Brent and Brittany are my niece and nephew. They are Lynn's children. I sure love those two kids. They always bring a smile to my face. They are talented and hilarious and so much fun to be around. I am very lucky to be their Auntie. I haven't seen them since Christmas. Boy do I miss them. Life just seems to get into the way sometimes. Even though they just live an hour away in Salem, its hard to get together. I just want them to know that I am thinking about them and love them very much.

Oh, and I think I missed giving credit to my niece Brittany for her beautiful picture I used in a recent posting titled "A piece of Heaven". She is the one that took that beautiful picture of the clouds/sky! I grabbed it off of her MySpace photos. Thanks Brittany for that picture. It really truly is my FAVORITE picture!

To my daughters with love

To My Daughter with Love on the Important things in life
Author: Susan Polis Schutz

A mother tries to provide her daughter with insight
into the important things in life
in order to make her life
as happy and fulfilling as possible.

A mother tries to teach her daughter
to be good, always helpful to other people
to be fair, always treating others equally
to have a positive attitude at all times
to always make things right when they are wrong
to know herself well
to know what her talents are
to set goals for herself
to not be afraid of working too hard to reach her goals.

A mother tries to teach her daughter
to have many interests to pursue
to laugh and have fun every day
to appreciate the beauty of nature
to enter into friendships with good people
to honor their friendships and always be a good friend
and to particularly respect and love our elder members
to use her intelligence all times
to listen to her emotions
to adhere to her values

A mother tries to teach her daughter
to not be afraid to stick to her beliefs
to not follow the majority when the majority is wrong
to carefully plan a life for herself
to vigorously follow her chosen path
to enter into a relationship with someone worthy of herself
to love this person unconditionally with her body and mind
to share all that she has learned in her life with this person

If I have provided you with an insight
into most of these things
then I have succeeded as a mother
in what I hoped to accomplish in raising you
if many of these slipped by
while we were all so busy
I have a feeling you know them anyway
One thing I am sure of though,
I have taught you to be proud of the fact
that you are a woman equal to all men and
that I have loved you every second of your life
I have supported you at all times
as a mother, as a person, and as a friend
I will always continue to Cherish and love
everything about you
my beautiful daughter.

This is for all 3 of my daughters. I saw this and fell in love, it says exactly what I want to say but can't find the words to say. I did not inherit Grandpa Tom's poetry bug, I am not good with words, but this poem I found says it all for me.

Mormon Ads

I love these Mormon~Ads, they are right to the point!
The bottom of this ad (which is hard to read here) says:
PRAYER IS YOUR DIRECT LINE TO HEAVENLY FATHER.
WITH HIS PLAN YOU HAVE UNLIMITED MINUTES, NO ROAMING CHARGES,
AND YOU WILL NEVER GET A BUSY SIGNAL. USE IT ANYTIME, ANYWHERE.
(PSALMS 55:16-17)

A piece of Heaven

I just love this picture. I love to watch the clouds. I don't know why....its just so peaceful I guess. This picture reminds me that things here on earth can get dark and ugly, but there is something better just waiting for us above if we can only endure.

I am trying my best to get through something right now and as painful as it is...I know that Heavenly Father, Jesus, my two Grandma's, my friends Archie and Mary and many others are up in heaven cheering me on.

This picture helps me remember I have the power of heaven on my side!

I thought I would just share a little piece of heaven with you today.

Reason, Season, Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
To aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are..
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
This person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
Things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson,
Love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant

Thank you for being a part of my life,
Whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.
